PSU’s may be allowed to retrench 10% of their workforce every year

Talk about job security at a PSU!!!

The Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) has favoured and the suggestions of a committee on Performance Management System. These are the recommnedations -

  • Poor performers should be given only a single chance to improve
  • Each entity should identify 10% of its Executives under poor and non-performing category
  • Such identified poor performers not to be given Performance Related Pay (PRP) for the relevant period
  • Adopting the Bell cure approach, not more than 10-15 % Executives to be graded as outstanding.

Well, have to wait and see what is it store. So if you thought PSU’s were a better bet in today’s volatile job market conditions, think thrice!!
