Enter MS, Exit Symbian; Nokia Engineers feel cheated

Nokia’s decision to strategically move to Microsoft from its present operating platform of Symbian could be a cause of anxiety for many of the Engineers working in Nokia across the world. Many employees already feel cheated by Nokia’s decision. The affected are mostly going to be engineers working in the R&D Departments.

But news is that a few engineers working on the Symbian platform based at Bangalore would also be affected by this shift.  While Nokia does not intend to completely switchover to Symbian, the smartphones would be driven by Microsoft. The Company might look at alternative jobs for employees who would be rendered jobless ……..  hopefully.

This shift could trigger anxiety even across employees working in other Mobile applications producing companies since even these companies could take the plunge.
