Companies to disclose Contract Labour data

After we heard of the move of the Govt to amend Contract Labour Act to bring Contract Labour at par with the permanent work force, they now intend to ask Companies to disclose data regarding the number of workers engaged and the minimum wages paid. This is to check if companies are treating their contract workers at par with their permanent workforce. It doesn’t take such collation of statistics for the Govt to realize that the wages paid to Contract Labour definitely are not  at par with permanent workforce.

While it is not made obligatory on the part of the Companies to submit such details but in the absence of such disclosure they will have substantiate as to why such data is not being provided. Now which company would frankly have reasons to substantiate non-submission. That being the case everyone would end submitting details.
